California finally legalized recreational marijuana, folks .

On November 8, 2016 the state of California was one of the four states in the United States, that voted yes to legalize marijuana. Actually, voted yes to decriminalize marijuana. The 2 terms, decriminalization and legalization, continue to be misused in the world today. Marijuana decriminalization means- folks will be allowed to possess certain quantities of marijuana and will be allowed to grow certain quantities of the Cannabis Plant .Legalization means-you can have as much marijuana on you and you can grow as many Cannabis Plants as you want as long as they are for your personal use. What California actually did on November 8, 2016- was to vote yes, to allow for possession of certain quantities of marijuana.

This vote was cast in favor of Proposition 64. This new legislation, will allow  adults 21 years and over, to legally possess up to 28.5 grams of marijuana and 8 grams of marijuana concentrates. An adult of 21 years and older can also grow 6 cannabis plants. They should not be visible to the public and must be in a lockable area. The ultimate goal will be for folks to possess as much as they want, but I can’t really see why one would want more than that, unless off cause you have a massive party in place.  Smoking in public remains illegal. One can only smoke in the privacy of their home or at particular smoking spots.

Previously in California,  The Bureau of Medical Cannabis Regulation was in charge of regulating and licensing marijuana activities, but with the passing of Proposition  64 , it has been renamed The Bureau of Marijuana Control. It will continue to oversee the regulating and licensing of all marijuana business operations in California. The vote for yes was not a runaway as potnpolitics had predicated.  Out of about 11.2 million votes cast, about 6.3 million voted yes. I would have always thought in California more than 10 million would have voted yes.  California was the first state to pass for medical marijuana in 1996, via Proposition 215 –and 20 years on recreation marijuana is decriminalized. WHAT TOOK YOU SO LONG CALI? Proposition 64 for recreational marijuana would have probably passed earlier had the Democrats kept office after Bill Clinton. President Barack Obama made this happen, folks.

California has brought us great strains like Girl Scout Cookies by the Cookie Family. This new law will encourage more marijuana basement entrepreneurs to get the courage and motivation to work on creating even much better marijuana strains, folks.   Remember, legalization is just around the corner and is as sure as death. Keep the bongs loaded and the joints burning folks. Please also share this post with your friends and family, by using the social media links below. Till next time, take care and cheers.
