The Hidden Agenda Behind Marijuana Prohibition Part 2

I Know you were all eager for the part 2 to this, so here we go folks  .

JessusMexican immigrants were already demonized, so this “marihuana” could have just been a case of adding onto something else.  With the intention of keeping  control and keeping tabs on these new citizens, cities in Texas like El Paso borrowed a play from San Francisco’s playbook, which had proscribed opium decades earlier in an effort to have the Chinese immigrants in check. WOW! The authorities were really just trying to get to a situation where they could have an excuse to search, detain and deport Mexican immigrants. I mean, the more people saw such shady plays and the more they listened to the false reports from media-the more the fear of the Mexicans grew. This unwarranted fear would then lead to new laws being placed. All these laws did, was to lead to unjust search and harassment. All this over marijuana folks, yes, all this over weed. No one had proven that marijuana was causing them to attack anyone or be aggressive. Talk about ancient unjust treatment.

The Mexicans had not really introduced marijuana into the USA, all they had done was just introduce it as a recreational drug. The miracle flower aka pot, had continued to be linked with the immigrants, and the fear and prejudice about the Spanish-speaking strangers became associated with marijuana. Anti-drug campaigners and racists warned against the impinging “Marijuana Menace,” and they argued that terrible crimes were attributed to marijuana and the Mexicans who used it. So, because of this talk of deporting the Mexican started to emerge in the country and mostly in the southern states. It’s hard and very sad to believe that this is really the reason that led to marijuana prohibition folks. Local American citizens despised the culture of the Mexicans at the time and as a result they blamed their different behavior on marijuana. It’s also very possible that most of this might not have really been racially motivated but rather, it was just fear of the unknown. Folks could have already been afraid of a takeover or maybe a few crimes involving the new immigrants made the locals judge the whole group based on the actions of a few . Could also be possible that Mexican were never welcome and marijuana was just used as a scapegoat to get rid of Mexicans .Can you imagine planning on deporting people who were not harming anyone after smoking, but just deporting them because they enjoyed a miracle flower? They were not breaking any laws folks, as in the early 20th century the USA had no laws against recreation marijuana use. This has to go down as one of the injustices witnessed buy the world folks. This method of regulating people by controlling their customs was very successful to the extent that it became a national approach for keeping certain ethnicities under the watch and control of the government. Even till today we see this happen folks.
